It may seem that there is nothing simpler than burning a candle. Quick one - get a candle, light it and that's it...
In principle, it seems so ... but it turns out that in order to make the candle really serve us for a long time, you have to follow some simple, though non-obvious principles, which we will share with you in this share...
1. The candle has a great memory;)
To remember us well, the candle should be burnt for not less than 1-2 hours to let the whole surface of the candle melt. Otherwise, we expose the candle to so-called tunneling (an ugly hole in the middle and a lot of unused wax at the sides of the candle). Only by melting the entire surface of the candle will we achieve the full throw of a wonderful aroma floating in the whole room. The melting of the entire surface is also a determinant of the quality of the candle, because it means that the manufacturer correctly selected the size of wick for a given composition and size of the candle.
2. Burn the candle for a long time
It is necessary to melt not only the entire surface - what is equally important is so-called pool, i.e. the depth at which the wax melts . The correct depth of the pool is 1-1.5 cm. To ensure that the pool is not deeper, it is recommended not to burn the candle for more than 3-4 hours at a time.
3. Take care of the candle wick
The wick should always be placed centrally in the candle and each time after the candle has set, the wick needs to be trimmed to a maximum of 5 mm in length. Such a procedure prevents the candle from being burned too fast, promotes even burning and prolongs the life of the candle, and at the same time our pleasure of using.
4. Nothing is eternal
When the candle ends its life - stop burning the candle, when it is only about 8-10mm to the bottom, because the candle can become excessively hot causing destruction of your favorite furniture on which the container stands or breaking of the vessel. If you want to use the wax to the end - use it in a wax heater.
5. Knowledge is the power
Read all safety instructions printed on the packaging very carefully and use them strictly. Each manufacturer puts on their candles appropriate pictograms that help quickly get acquainted with the guidelines.
6. For love of candles ... care for their purity
Take care of your candle and keep the candle wax clean - remove any contamination when the wax is still liquid (pieces of matches, wick and others) to be sure that the candle will burn properly afterwards.
7. Do not carry a burning candle
This applies especially to candles in transparent containers, because then ugly streaks will form on the walls, and there is also a risk that the wick will move, which will prevent proper, symmetrical burning of the candle.
Finally, a few words about security ...
- Do not place the candle near curtains and other flammable materials. NEVER leave a candle lit when you leave the house!
- Keep candles away from small children and animals.
